The founding of the Earby Pothole Club

Not every caving club can claim to have it’s early days documented in The Times!

The club (if you believe what you read in the press) was founded in 1945 by four young cavers, 17 year olds Jim Walker and Peter Dawson, together with Arthur Healey and Kenneth Metcalf.

The Times article:

This very early membership list shows all four founding members, as well as one current one!
